New Year Reflections

New Year Reflections

New Year Reflections – As I reflect on the new decade here at Red Shed Designs I have a lot of thoughts and goals twirling around in my head……..

but I think most importantly is the gratitude I feel for our customers, we gain new customers/followers everyday through our Etsy shop or social media and it is just exciting to know that so many people across the world appreciate the hard work we put into our handmade items. We have also gained several wholesale customers over the past year that now offer Red Shed Designs Jewelry in their retail locations which is exciting.  So I wanted to write about the things you might not realize about handmade items and the small shops that make them.

  1. The items you purchase from Red Shed Designs are made with love, as makers Jason and I infuse energy and love into the pieces we design and make with our hands and hopefully that is reflected when you receive your items from us. We dedicate countless hours designing and making each piece, then getting it photographed and listed for you to purchase, it truly is a labor of love that we get excited to share with all of you.
  2. You are supporting real people and real dreams; this is a big one! When you purchase items from a big chain or corporation it’s hard to know where your money is going but when you purchase items from a small shop you know that it is going to support someone’s dreams. Red Shed Designs has been a huge blessing to our family, bills have been paid off, trips have been taken and forever memories have been made.  Lives change when you put your money into small businesses like ours.
  3. When you wear handmade jewelry you are a part of a story that the designer/maker is telling through their work. Each design has a special meaning to the person who created it and you get to wear that proudly knowing you are supporting that person even if you don’t know the meaning behind the piece.
  4. You get to have a one-of-a-kind creation, since handmade jewelry is not mass produced. The pieces are designed, cut, sanded, chain is attached and put together all in our little workshop by our very own hands. You are the only person with that specific piece of jewelry and that makes it very special. So just remember that even though a piece of handmade jewelry might be a little more costly than a mass produced piece you are supporting something bigger than yourself. The piece is something unique that you can treasure and be proud to add to your jewelry collections.
  5. We are very proud of our work so the quality is higher than something you purchase from a big box store. We have the ability to put together the piece from start to finish so if it doesn’t live up to our standards we don’t add it to our inventory, this assures higher quality products.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel after 2019 and going into 2020. The fact that you make the choice to spend your hard earned dollars on our handmade jewelry is so awesome and we appreciate it so much…….so Thank You for an amazing year and we can’t wait to roll out new designs and share so much more with you in 2020!
