Red Shed Designs Branding Video
Branding Video
Have you ever had one of those moments in life where you open your eyes and you can see God’s hand in your life? This blog post will show you that moment that I got goose bumps because I saw him working in my life.
Jason and I had been throwing around some ideas one night as we sat on the couch, we talked about photos of our products and how looking back on the past year when we started this journey our photos were just OK but we have really grown and learned a lot along the way and now our photos look so much better. We also talked about some new ideas on how we can grow our small business. I whipped out my phone and brought up a video from another small jewelry business that I wanted to share with him and I told him it would be cool to do a video like that in the future. We watched and shared our dreams and ideas and I said to him that I know one of our daughter’s best friends has an older sister who just graduated from college and has been doing wedding videography and I had seen a couple of her videos on Facebook and she did a really good job. So I mentioned Katey to him and I said maybe when we are ready we could contact her and see if she would be willing to work with us on something.
The very next day (this is when I get the goose bumps) I receive an email from non-other than Katey Doreff and she explains in the email that she has been working on launching a videography company and currently she specializes in weddings but she would like to get into other areas like branding films for small businesses. She goes on to tell me our small business is one of her favorites and she would love to collaborate with us on some short branding films. Wow!!!! to say I was excited would be an understatement. So we set up a date to meet and she came over to our house, she was so professional and we went over all of our ideas and how we would like the videos to look. It was a very good meeting and made Jason and I even more excited to see what she was going to come up with. After she left Jason said to me “I hope one day when our girls are older they are able to present themselves and speak to people the way that Katey just did” I totally agreed, we were both so impressed with her professionalism for being so young.
So we proceeded to schedule a shoot date and Katey was kind enough to gather a few models, the sad part was that the day and time we choose ended up being outside and it was 50 degrees and raining the whole time. So all of us were freezing and wet, we made the best of it and tried to get some good footage of our jewelry but the weather made that very challenging. After a little while the rain got heavier so Katey decided to wrap things up and said she would like to meet up again to get some more footage, so we agreed maybe an inside location would be better since Indiana weather is so unpredictable.
So fast forward to today, it was so much fun and I am so excited to see the final product!
Today we had 6 beautiful models who were so good and most importantly we had sunshine! We began at the beautiful Botanical Gardens which is inside and has some amazing plants and unique backdrops for the video. After shooting there we headed back to the alley’s that we had gone to the previous time, the lighting and brick/industrial backgrounds were so beautiful. Although the weather was still a bit cold we were thankful for the sun and overall it was a beautiful day. We ended with a warm drink at Starbucks and smiles all around. Jason and I left the shoot and were both so pumped up by how the day went and how everything came together. We were so thankful to everyone who gave up their time to either model, hold coats or just make the day run smoothly. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.
We cannot wait to see what Katey puts together, she is so talented and has such a bright future ahead of her. We couldn’t be more thankful that she asked us to do this project with her and we hope it will give her a good start to her videography business.
