Support Small Shops This Holiday Season

Sorry it has been a few weeks since I last posted, we have been busy getting Red Shed Designs up and running and filling orders. Which is so exciting! YAY!!! Thank you to everyone who has shown their love and support to our small shop we appreciate it so much.
I cannot believe it is Thanksgiving already, we are hosting my family at our house so all the prep for that this week has kept me very busy too, but I am not complaining I have so much to be thankful for this year and I am looking forward to having everyone in our home.  Happy Thanksgiving to you!
The holiday season is such a fun time of year with all the decorations, parties, family time and shopping……..lots of shopping! My Mom, the girls and I will be mapping out our shopping strategy for Black Friday today, we always have so much fun spending time together and finding good bargains! I start my Christmas shopping early so I usually use Black Friday as a day to finish everything up, then I can wrap and relax during the month of December, it is much less stressful.
I am a very thoughtful gift giver; I like to spend time thinking about the person I am giving a gift to and get them something that is not expected. So I definitely take my time thinking through my list and finding just the right gift to give, that is my favorite part about the holidays is giving. My favorite place to shop is Etsy; I love all the unique handmade items you can find and the creative people that sell things on that site.
Speaking of all the shopping and Etsy, I hope you will consider buying some of your gifts from small shop owners this year. November 25th is Shop Small Saturday; it is a devoted day where people can show their love and support to small shop owners. Even before I was a small shop owner I always-loved supporting small business, it has been important to me for a very long time. I was born into a small shop family; my Mom and Dad own a plumbing business that was started by my grandfather over 50 years ago. My grandmother was also a small shop owner as you read in my previous “Inspiration” post; she started the Red Shed, which was a small antique shop. So as you can see small shops have a very special place in my heart and I have always tried to do my best to show my support.
In honor of Small Shop Saturday we are rolling out some new Zebra wood bar earrings that are gorgeous!! I have a pair and I wear them all the time, the wood is so unique and beautiful.

We also have a few pairs of smaller earrings in different woods and styles for those of you who like more of a petite style of earring. A special thanks to my beautiful Mom for being a model for our new more petite earrings.

A few small shop owners that I have ordered from in the past and are wonderful to work with:

Onesie Two Three – personalized onesies with babies name hand painted – these are my go to gift when someone I know has a baby, they are adorable and a keepsake. https://www.etsy.com/shop/OnesieTwoThree?ref=shop_sugg

Hello Girl Boutique – cute t-shirts and customized pillows (I ordered my daughter a camera pillow with the name of her website on it and it turned out so awesome!)https://www.etsy.com/shop/HelloGirlBoutique?ref=shop_sugg

Jamie Clark Art – Custom watercolor prints – she is amazing, I love watching her watercolor videos on Instagram she is so talented!                                                   https://jamieclarkart.com/

Jamie Eldridge – Damsel in Defense – they sell personal protection products to keep yourself and your family safe. Jamie also owns her own photography business (Jamie Eldridge Photography) which I have used a lot over the years.    http://www.mydamselpro.net/Eldridge
