Strasbourg France

Strasbourg is a city located in northeastern France, near the border with Germany. When we traveled to Europe last summer it was by far our favorite city. Here are some tips for visiting Strasbourg and some of our photos from our trip:

TIPS FOR YOUR TRIP TO STRASBOURG:

Explore the Old Town (Petite France) the old town of Strasbourg, known as Petite France, is a charming district with narrow, winding streets and half-timbered houses. It’s a great place to wander and take in the city’s history and architecture (my favorite). The Airbnb we stayed at was also amazing I will leave a link here.

Try some local specialties: Strasbourg is know for its gastronomy, so be sure to try some of the local specializes such as tarte flambee (a thin crust pizza-like dish), we also enjoyed the fresh and delicious croissants each morning for breakfast. Some of the food was so good I forgot to take a before photo!

Explore the surrounding region: Strasbourg is located in the Alsace region, which is known for its beautiful countryside and wine production. Consider taking a day trip to explore some of the charming villages and vineyards in the surrounding area. Once of our favorite days was spent on an all day guided tour of Colmar and the Alsace region. Our guide Robin was so great!

Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral: The Notre-Dame Cathedral is a beautiful gothic masterpiece and the most iconic attraction in the middle of Strasbourg. It’s free to enter and offers stunning views of the city from the top of its tower. It is quiet a trek to get to the top with ancient winding stone staircases but totally worth the view once you get to the top!

I hope these tips are helpful for planning your trip to Strasbourg! I highly recommend this beautiful city, we say that we left a portion of our hearts in Strasbourg.
