Unique Jewelry Displays – Repurposed

Unique Jewelry Displays – Repurposed

From the moment we applied to be a vendor at the Painted Tree Boutique and got approved with a resounding “Yes” we have been making sure our booth is put together in a unique and creative way.  Red Shed was approved back in September and we started planning out the look and feel we wanted our booth to have.  While taking a weekend trip to Michigan we visited a large antique mall and were excited with the treasures we found.  These large wood tulip bulb drying trays were our first purchase. We barely fit them in our car and at $10 each I had to talk Jason out of buying all 4 of them (I don’t know how we could have possibly fit those in his car). We purchased two and that was the beginning of our booth design.

From the moment we saw these bins we loved the rustic look, but we had no clue what we were going to do with them. After bringing them home we decided to make them into display racks for our jewelry. We found black slat boards and cut them down to perfectly fit within the frame of the old wood boxes. They turned out so awesome, I love mixing old with new and repurposing things.  They will hang side by side on the right-hand wall of our booth.  Excitement filled us when I finally got to load the hooks with Red Shed Jewelry. The overall look was much better than either of us could have imagined!  It just goes to show you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make creative displays.

Cost of the Project

What do you think of our bulb drying rack displays we made for less than $150?

$99 – Black Slat board for both racks

$27 – Black Hooks

Much more design and planning went into our booth, I will let you know on the next blog post how we planned out the rest of our booth and how we used a lot of items we found in our home.  Be sure you subscribe to our blog and our new YouTube channel so you can follow along!
